FREE GAMSAT Practice Questions To Answer

Practising questions is the most vital part in preparing for the GAMSAT. The GAMSAT is an exam that aims to test your ability to interpret information rather than rote learnt information. The question styles are different to most exams and becoming familiar and practising extracting the information from question stems is the main way to improve your GAMSAT score.

For these reasons, it’s important to practise questions and to ensure you use the best sources for the questions. Here are the top GAMSAT practice questions to answer:

1.     ACER

Every student preparing to sit the GAMSAT should definitely practice the ACER questions. These are the only official GAMSAT practice questions and are therefore the most similar to the actual exam. There are three practice tests and various sample questions. The correct answer choices are provided at the end of the booklet, if you need any further help with the solutions, feel free to ask one of our tutors. I also recommend that as you approach the exam, begin timing yourself whilst practising questions to allow you to analyse your time management. 2.     Medic Mind

3.     Griffiths GAMSAT Review

Griffiths GAMSAT review also provide a multitude of questions, it consists of 6 books and covers each of the GAMSAT sections. It costs approximately $272 AUD for the complete set, and can be purchased from here .

4.     Ultimate GAMSAT Guide

This textbook provides 2 full GAMSAT test papers with worked solutions. Additionally, it provides the relevant theory for the science disciplines so it’s worth checking out if you also require notes and theory. It costs approximately $50 AUD and can be purchased here.

5.     Des O’Neill

The Des O’Neill GAMSAT company has retired but their question books are still available online and in print format. The questions are similar to the GAMSAT in that they test your ability to interpret information. They are not as good as the ACER questions but they are very well known amongst GAMSAT students and were one of the first preparation courses. You can find them on eBay and Gumtree.

6.     Textbook questions

A year 12 standard is recommended for the science disciplines and therefore you may be using a year 12 textbook to understand the theory. These textbooks include questions at the end of each chapter to test your knowledge. While they might not reflect the GAMSAT style of questions, these can be useful to test your understanding and knowledge.
